How do we know whom we have not met? How do we feel what we cannot touch? How can we believe what we cannot see? How can we understand when we have not walked in those shoes? The power to do all things is within each being. "Created equal" does not necessarily have a thing to do with our perspective of "equality;" rather, I choose to believe it has everything to do with what we can do if we only will do. For deep within ourselves, there is a wealth of ability - that that is lacking is not the ability, though, it is the desire, the faith in self, and the ultimate driving desire to accomplish.
Fear is the ultimate downfall of many. Fear of the unknown. Fear of failure. Fear of rejection. "I would try that myself, but I just don't have the guts..." I feel strongly about the following, please read on...
(1) There is no one any lessor or greater than yourself. All people deserve respect as human beings, they deserve kindness and appreciation, they deserve to be treated as you would want them to treat you in the same (though often unimaginable) shoes...
(2) What goes around comes around. Heard it before, I know. But it is true - if you give of yourself, you will find that people will give back to you. If you keep to yourself, you will find that people keep away from you. If you pass along a smile - a warm, genuine smile - you'll get one back...almost always.
(3) If you want to do something - and you really want to do it, you will have the ability. It may not come easily at first (although sometimes it does); it may require practice and discipline. And then, when you can do it, you may not be the best. You may not even be better than average... but you will be able to do it. And remember - that's what you wanted in the first place...
And finally (and I hope you know where these words came from...), now abideth these three: faith, hope and love, and the greatest of these, is love.
So what is success? True success is giving and receiving the greatest gift of all: love.
